The hike to Chester Lake is among the most popular in all of
Kananaskis. With a return distance to the lake of 8.5 km, an
elevation gain of less than 400 meters and a port-a-potty about 50
meters from the lake, this trail is popular among families with
younger children. It’s also a challenging snowshoe route.

There are many picnic spots along the lakeshore at Chester Lake,
which means the odds of a regular-sized container being spotted by
muggles is pretty high. So this cache is a camo-painted waterproof
match container, log only. Please bring your own pen / pencil.
The trail appears on Gem Trek’s “Kananaskis Lakes” Trail Map and
Guide; is covered in Gillean Daffern’s “Kananaskis Country Trail
Guide" Vol. 1; and is included in the Calgary
Area Trail Mapping Project trail set.
