This is an ammo can hidden along the EBMUD trail that starts at the Turkey Hill Staging Area at Lake Camanche.
From the gate at the trailhead, the walk is 2.17 miles along the path, or 1.08 miles as the crow flies, although I would definitely NOT recommend that way unless you want to bushwack through brush and poison oak and prime snake country.
The path is suitable for walking or horseback riding and goes along gently rolling terrain. The cache can also be reached by a boat ride, followed by a little walk. The area would be great for a picnic with a view of the lake.
Once you reach the cache site, please note that this is snake country. The cache is NOT hidden in the middle of the rocks or at the top of the rocks. The coordinates were averaged, but the area has tree cover, so please use the hint if you're having problems locating the container.
To use this trail, you will need a EBMUD trail permit. Single day permits can be purchased, as well as yearly permits, at this website:

I have never encountered a ranger on any of these trails, but friends of mine have, and if you don't have a permit, they get kind of irritated and you might get cited. Also, if you have a permit, you can show the permit at the Lake Camanche entrance and get in to this area free without having to pay for day use of the lake. This permit is also good at the Coast to Crest Trail at Lake Pardee.
In addition, there are three other caches located close to this trail on your way to this cache, not including a cache right at the Turkey Hill Staging area. So...for the price of one day's trail permit, you could get 5 finds and a great hike! Just be sure to pack water and I would definitely NOT recommend wearing flipflops.
