Welcome to a series of caches in the new town of Ave
Maria. The town, university and oratory are the final
result of one man’s dream and divine providence.
The town is built in the middle of former tomato fields and is host
to a plethora of wildlife, so don’t forget to bring your
camera! Google Earth will not help you since the
roads and buildings are so new. The series will consist of
different types and sizes of caches with easy terrain, but varied
difficulties. More caches will be added as more
development occurs. The series is designed to
take you on a tour of the various areas in the town – you can bring
your bikes and make a day of it or find plenty of parking for all
of the caches.
This particular cache is not in an
urban environment, but will take you out to a more rural
location. You will drive on a dirt trail to the general
area. We found deer tracks the day we placed this cache, and
we've also seen wild boar and evidence of active alligator
habitation, so keep your eyes open for deer and other
wildlife. The cache is located just off a trail and
there is
no need to bushwack and NO NEED TO CLIMB OVER
FENCING!! There is a lot of opportunity to CITO here.
This is just one in the series so if you're picky, persnickety,
retentive, or otherwise a complainer, just skip this
one.
A few words or “fine print”
1.
Safety is a priority and you should always be aware of your
surroundings. Here in the swamps, you should
expect poison plants, thorns, snakes, ticks, bees, bears,
alligators, muggles and other various wildlife related
obstacles.
2.
Muggles are everywhere, so your BEST STEALTH is required at
all times. If a cache is unobtainable due to
muggle infestation, then please come back for it on a future
attempt. I love hiding caches – not replacing
them.
3.
Rehide the container EXACTLY as you found it.
4.
Enjoy the hunt! You are not getting paid
for it so don’t turn it into work. The only
reward is a smiley and the satisfaction of finding it.
5.
Did I mention MUGGLES???
6. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE HINTS OR SPOILERS IN YOUR LOGS!
7. You must
sign the log in
order for it to count as a find.
8. It is highly
recommended that you bring along an instrument that will aid
in the retrieval or “plucking” of hard to reach caches and/or
tightly wound logs.
