Geocache Description:

This cache is on the paved trail and you will not have to leave the trail to go on or near the Alaska Railroad so please don't trespass on the tracks. The cache is located on the bridge above the tracks so please stay on the trail!

This is a newly opened segment of the Anchorage bicycle, walking, running, and site-seeing trail system that I am glad is now opened. The new trail follows Ship Creek and the Alaska Railroad. It has some nice view points along the trail system where you can safely watch the Alaska Railroad trains go by if your in the area when they go through this area. There are some awesome views of Ship Creek along here as well. I seen king salmon and pink salmon, lots of different birds and ducks when I placed the cache.

The trail has taken a couple of years to complete and now those who ride from Mountain View and have a traffic free access all the way to downtown now and can even connect up to the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.

When I placed the cache I ran into lots of folks already using the trail. Even out of towners as there is a camper park very near the trail.

Don't drop your keys or else they might be going North or South. Depending on the time of day your here!

Congrats to tlcroft on the FTF!
