A memorial stone in a very peaceful location.
In 1964 three Rover Scouts lost their lives while on the Four Inns walk.
A sudden and unexpected change in the weather left them caught in a snow blizzard for which they were unprepared and unequipped.
Many attribute this event as the origin of Mountain Rescue as it is today.
PLEASE NOTE
Please be respectful at the site and note that the cache has been placed away from the actual memorial.
GPS signal may be weak as cache is in a steep sided valley.
Please view hint/spoiler as this is a hard trek for a DNF!
Hopefully the usual health and safety warnings are written into the above! The Alport Valley can be very unforgiving.
