This cache will lure you to a really interesting part of WV.
This dog-friendly cache is in Coopers Rock State Forest in northern West Virginia. Get off I-68 at exit 15 and head south into the forest. Drive in as far as you can. You won’t need to do any real bushwhacking to get to the cache, but you may want to consult trail maps to find an easy way to the cache area. Depending on where you park, it’ll be a mile or two walk on rocky trails to the area of the cache. Once near the cache, keep your eyes wide open and OFF your GPS, for there are sheer cliffs and treacherous rocks nearby.
While there, you may want to visit Raven Rock, and certainly the overlook area.
Note: This cache will be very difficult to find if there is snow on the ground. Coopers Rock is open, but the road gated off, from about the winter solstice to late spring. During this time it’ll be a long hike to the cache.
