Old Brickworks Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

PazaUK: They are coppicing over here at the moment so I uplifted the cache to save it until they've done. However, with only two finds since Jan 2015, I've decided this one has run it's course.

Thank you to everyone that has visited and for your lovely logs.

Geocache Description:

The cache is a short multi (less than 1 mile) located at the Old Brickworks Nature Reserve. The paths are buggy-friendly and, apart from a couple of gentle slopes, are mainly flat. After wet weather, a couple of paths can get muddy. Take care, though, as there is a road to cross. The co-ordinates above are for stage 1 of the hunt. There is a small layby available for parking (co-ords below).

We remember this place when it was a wasteland not so long ago. It's now maturing nicely and has no trace of its industrial heritage as a thriving clay pit and brick making factory in the 1950's - except we guess some of the clay pits are now wildlife ponds. These ponds are now the habitat of the protected Great Crested Newt. GCN are legally protected by UK and European law. You can find more information about the reserve at Old Brickworks Nature Reserve website. You may see birds like a Green Woodpecker and a Heron as I did when placing the cache.
It's popular with the locals for dog-walking etc so you'll need to be stealthy especially at the cache site.

Please note you will not need to leave any paths until within a few feet of GZ.
All the details you need are in the table below.

There are waste-bins at entrances - it would be great if every visitor did even just one CITO.
This cache is published with grateful thanks to Mr Steve Barnes (Ecological Officer of the Countryside Service of Cannock Chase Council) for permission and advice.
