Okay, there are lots of caches on the canal, but this one will not be so easy to get to. We used a canoe to place the cache, so you will probably need one to find it. You are looking for a large camouflaged ammo can.
To get to the cache, you can launch your canoe or kayak at the Savannah River Rapids Pavilion and then have a relaxing float to the cache site while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Watch out for low branches that protrude from the shore line. They can sneak up on you!
I would not recommend paddling upstream to get back to your starting point. The current can be overwhelming. Try to plan ahead an make arrangements for taking out at the other end of the canal. Pack a lunch and make a day of it! And take pictures!!! Have fun!
