Big Wheels Keep on Turbine Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no response to my previous note, I assume that the cache is not going to be repaired or replaced, so I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

This location is an easy drive up and park. Walk a short distance to the cache.

As I was driving up to see a friend at the Bidwell Marina, I spotted this huge thing that looked like a landed space ship. I had to stop and take a look. The size was amazing to me once I got up to the thing. This is one of six turbine runners that turn the generators inside the Oroville Dam. Water flows through this thing to produce enough power to light up 120,000 homes. As a part of a refurbishment project, these runners are being replaced. Lucky for us cachers, we have another hiding spot. Happy Caching. (FTF fun prize) May require a retrieval tool.
