What is Geocaching coming to you ask?
George1 is now putting out Micros??? Well to tell you
the truth this was the easiest way I could get a Cache in
this area and not get it muggled. But, as always, you can
be sure I have a reason for bringing you here. In fact there
are three reasons.
1. You can get a quick Cache and I hope you don’t dash!!! Take
the time to enjoy your surroundings. The Cache is easy to find but
small. There is not room for any trades. You only need to sign the
log. BYOP
2. Many people just drive over the bridge but never take the
time to enjoy the beauty of this area. Walk out on the bridge and
enjoy the beauty of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. There
is plenty of room to walk, off the roadway, out on to the bridge.
It is a great place for pictures any time of the year but
especially October. ( See the first picture in the Gallery ) Feel
the bridge vibrate when someone drives over it.
3. Across the river from this location is a well used canoe
launch. This is where you can start a canoe trip that will take you
down the river past another Cache that is, FOR MOST PEOPLE, only
accessible by canoe. Usually it’s about a 3 to 4 hour, depending on
the water, trip to the Karthaus Canoe Launch where you can take
out. Just past the Moshannon Falls is a Cache called “Moshannon
Falls Rafting Point”. Be sure to plan for it if you take the
trip.
You can drive to within 10 feet of the Cache and there is plenty
of room to park. Please use caution when coming back on to the
highway when you leave. People tend to roll off the hill pretty
fast. PLEASE BE SURE TO PUT THE CONTAINER BACK EXACTLY LIKE
YOU FOUND IT!
