Many years ago,
Oldhippy placed a cache, "
Buddy Can You Spare A
Dime", very near this
location. He told me that the cache was a small thin black
container that contained a dime. I didn't have the same type
of container, so I opted to use a small aluminum bison tube
instead.
He also told
me where he was working at the time, and I was surprised to find it
is the same place that I am currently work at. It's funny how
things like that happen. Oldhippy had retired just a few
months prior to me beginning my new job.
My first
meeting with Oldhippy was over the phone and we talked about a
number of the people that currently work at my current and his
former place of employment. The next day, I had my GPS
sitting on my desk at work when I struck up a conversation with a
person there and somehow we managed to start talking about the
GPSs. Almost immediately, he mention Oldhippy by name.
He told me about some of the contribution that Oldhippy had made
and how they were still in use today.
