Geocache Description:

Remember your journey through Elementary, Middle, and High Schools? All the challenges and changes as you completed each grade? Well T-Rex, you just finished it. On May 24 you graduated from Harrison High School. Navistar, Bookie, and PHAT Matt are very proud of you. To celebrate we have placed this cache in your honor. This cache also requires a journey (a few miles), challenges (just simple math), and changes (of over 500 feet in elevation) that begins on top of the 4th highest summit in Cobb County and ends with a nice walk through the woods. Thankfully, as high schoolers love, most of it can be done by auto. Being born and raised in Cobb County, T-Rex does not recommend traveling to stage 1 in snow or icy conditions.

Stage 1: Go to the listed coordinates. It is a hard and steep climb from middle school to high school. Lots of challenges to get through that freshman year. But you have made it and now only need to find a 5-digit number that follows an A0 on a box. Call this 5-digit number ABCDE.

After surviving as a freshman, sophomore year seems nearly all downhill.

For final stage parking go to N33 5a.bcd W084 4e.fgh where:

a = B plus D
b = A minus C Minus D
c = C plus D
d = A plus C
e = B minus (2 times A)
f = A plus B
g = A minus D
h = B minus A minus D

Junior year seems like a short journey. You are now an upperclassman, but without all the pressures of being a senior.

For the trail entrance journey to N33 5a.bcd W084 4e.fgh where:

a = (2 times A) plus (2 times C)
b = D minus (2 times C)
c = A minus C
d = A plus B minus C
e = B minus A minus C minus D
f = B plus D plus E
g = B plus C
h = A times D

Now you are nearly there. Just one final stage to go. Senior year. A few ups and downs. Twisting turns and crossing paths. Might even be a little muddy at times. But there is always something to help you bridge the most difficult part.

You can find the graduation cache at N33 5a.bcd W084 4e.fgh where:

a = A plus B plus C minus D
b = 2 times C
c = 2 times E
d = A plus C plus D
e = C plus E
f = A minus (2 times C)
g = A plus D
h = C plus (2 times D)

You did it. You have completed the journey and can graduate to another cache. Congratulations!

FTF Prize: A graduation cap gift bag with two $2 bills.

NOTE: Trail and parking waypoints are on school property. Please do not attempt during school hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm. Evenings, weekends, school holidays, and school breaks are ok. The cache is located off public trails that run between 2 schools. These trails are frequented by walkers and runners, so some stealth may be required.

Additional Stage 1 Info: This summit would have made a nice park, but unfortunately it is all private property, except for the road. Even though there is really no place to put a physical cache here, the views make it a worthwhile starting stage. On a clear day these views are really magnificent. From the right spot on a clear day you can easily see Stone Mtn. and downtown Atlanta. Allegedly you can see 4 states from up here, but we think that might leave a lot to the imagination. T-Rex even claims he can see all the way to Georgia Southern, his next destination. Development seems to be going pretty slowly, so while you are up there enjoying the views be certain to pick out your next home site. The lots near Stage 1 are listed at over $400,000 for anywhere from ¾ to 1 acre in size. The home closest to the top is listed at over $2 million.
