Geocache Description:

Not at the Posted Coordinates

After seeing some other campus tours at other universities, I was hoping to be able to put one at St. Thomas as well. After several emails and meetings with administrators and professors, I finally recieved permission to do this cache on campus.

The concept is quite simple. I have listed several areas around campus in the additional waypoints that you must visit and find the associated number for. Putting these numbers into the final formula will give the coordinates for the final cache. The final is a camouflaged Peanut Butter jar.

Accessibility: Every stage is wheelchair accessible, but the final is slightly off the beaten path. If this may be an issue, contact me beforehand and it will be easy enough for me to assist.

Permission: As I said, this cache is placed with permission. The administration and campus security are aware of the cache. If you are asked, tell them what you are doing and all should be well. One important note: I have been asked that cachers stay clear of the residence halls. I know it can be hard to tell which buildings are, but I can assure you that the waypoints are not near them (except for one of the parking meter areas). You also do not need to, nor should you, enter any buildings. Please be respectful of the campus and enjoy the walk around it.

Parking: I have listed coordinates for meters on both North and South campus. They are quarters only. There is also on street parking that is easiest to park on at nights, weekends, and summer. Please obey the posted hours as they vary from street to street. Parking on Selby Avenue on the North side of campus is free with no time restrictions, but it is the farthest from all of the waypoints.

Public Transportation: The St. Thomas Campus is also accessible via bus routes 63, 21 m, 16 (with a transfer to the 21), and several others.

Final Location:

N 44 56.XXX W 93 11.YYY

XXX = ((C–A)/B)–5

YYY = ((C/A)xB)+103

A = What century is listed on the plaque? This is one of the most famous spots at St. Thomas
B = How many canoes? This sculpture is supposed to be something really mathy. I believe it is a representation of Klienbottles.
C = What year was the St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary founded?
