Geocache Description:

This is a dog-themed cache located in Woodsom Farm which can be accessed off Lions Mouth Rd in Amesbury MA. There is plenty of free parking located down the driveway behind the white barn next to the soccer fields. The farm is open to the public from dawn to dusk seven days a week. No access allowed after dark. Easy terrain on the trail; when off trail, watch out for gopher holes.

My name is Cody and I am a 6-year old Golden Retriever who has been geocaching for almost a month now with my owner, yukionna. I love getting out of the house to explore the outdoors so this cache is dedicated to all the dogs that enjoy doing the same. Woodsom Farm is a dog friendly, four-season, multi-use area open to all kinds of outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, sledding, and cross-country skiing (snowmobiles aren’t allowed). The cache is a plastic container about the size of a shoe box. I chose this location because it is one of my favorite romping places. There are plenty of scents to follow and there are always other dogs around to play with if you so desire. If your owner will let you go for a swim, the Powwow River winds around the northwestern corner of the farm which is a perfect spot for cooling off in on a hot day. Next to the river, there are plenty of spots for a scenic picnic lunch. Don’t forget to remind your owner to pick up after any messes you make (there are free pick-up bags in the parking area and I included a few extra bags in the cache). The first to find the cache will be given the “pick of the litter.” No, there aren’t any puppies in my cache but there are a lot of goodies to choose from such as my favorite movie – Disney’s 101 Dalmatians. There is a dog biscuit making kit which I can tell you from experience is fun to do and the results are very tasty to eat. There are dog toys such as two sizes of tennis balls for different size dogs and a rope pull toy. For those of you who find this cache and don’t own a dog, I have also included a dog key chain, some dog stickers and a Ty Teenie Beanie named “Spunky the Cocker Spaniel”. If you leave something in the cache, it would be great if it was dog related. By doing that, the cache will always be full of dog items to choose from for the next dog that comes along. Don’t forget to sign my log book and log your visit at geocaching.com too. I'd love to see pictures too. Last, but not least, my birthday is coming up so my owner included a birthday card for everyone to sign. I’m not supposed to know about the card but I saw her sneak it into the cache when she thought I wasn’t looking. ;) I hope you enjoy my first cache as much as I enjoyed pulling it all together! -- Cody Loyal companion of yukionna
