Along the "Powerline Road" between the Mannix Trail and Hwy 127
This cache is on "Red Lake Pass", near some stairs to nowhere, overlooking Fort Irwin's "FOB Miami" - the rotational unit avaiation Forward Operating Base. Depending on when you go, you might see army helicopters flying out of the airfield to the north across the dry lake bed.
High clearance is recommended. 4WD is not necessary, unless there have been recent rains. If out on weekends or holidays, watch for Dirt Bikes and ATVs!
