Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in honor and memory of one of Gainesville's finest!

We missed the memorial event in January and wanted to do something in honor of our friend Bruce (2LuknF8). His hides around Gainesville are inspirational and he was a fantastic guy. We think he would like this hide. Today we read his bio on the GC web site and decided to place this cache.

So that no one will forget, here is Bruce's profile from his GC.com web page (copied here with great respect):

UPDATE: February 2005: So much has happened since my last update...Geocaching has become rather expensive. I am now an owner of a yellow Jeep (yes, and it is also a TB..must find it, jot the number down to claim). My travels have taken me to places I would have otherwise never taken the time to stop and I have met many on the trails that I am honored to have known. This is a great community of folks from a diverse cross-section of people. If ever called upon, I will do everything in my power to assist as needed (even pull you out of a swamp when stuck...). Thank you to those that I have met- you have enriched my journey. See you on the trails! UPDATE (July 2004): Have owned a Garmin60cs for some months now and have since hit the 600 mark. I originally thought that this was an inexpensive sport until I purchased a Jeep to join fellow cachers out in the more difficult areas. Still smiling and still enjoying this not-so-inexpensive obsession... Started caching January 25, 2003. Heard of this from an old college friend. Bought a GPS without even doing one cache! Started with a Magellan Sport Trak Pro but have since upgraded to a Meridian Color with Direct Route- best one ever! 200th find was the Silver Springs cache. Path of the Skulls was my entry to the 300 level. Have hosted an event and met many great people and seen many great places- all that would have gone unnoticed if it weren't for geocaching! An obsessive hobby that I tell everyone about every chance that is offered (and some that are not). I look forward to the many adventures that lay before me and to those that I have yet to meet. Some of the most fun and craziest cacher I have met: The Federation (always going where others have already been) Yazawa Kat- full throttle and one that you should not let navigate unless you want to have a fun ride! OverRover & BlakDogs- Another unforgettable crew and two folks that do not know how to not to have fun (hmm, a double negative but furthest from the truth when in the company of these two!) Caches I want to do: Tube Scorcher and Red Scorpian- soon! First TB is Bodacious Bovine. She has travelled the world and would love to follow in her steps! My next adventure is a 24 hour cachethon in Jacksonville, FL. A cache-dense area and one that we hope to do over 250 caches within a 24 hour period. A daunting challenge and one that will be fun nonetheless.

** Hobbies **

Finding a way out of the woods.

** Biography **

Others may fly a kite- I prefer getting lost in the woods.

This is a kid friendly cache with some nice trade items and room for coins and travel bugs. Muggles should not be a problem.
