Geocache Description:

A small 200ml Sistema container in a camo bag, containing a log book in an inner canister and small treasures for trade.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PEN

A scenic part of the Waipapa Lake shore that is probably overlooked by the passing motorist. Southbound vehicles can park safely in a small off-road area. There is no safe parking for northbound vehicles. A turning place is further along the road.

If you look carefully at the water under the bridge you may notice that it actually flows either way, in or out, depending upon dam levels. On the day we arrived it was flowing out into the Lake and suddenly, as we watched, the flow stopped and then as if by magic it began to flow back upstream into the inlet. This may have been due to the actions of the resident Taniwha Twin or perhaps the water levels were being controlled by the dam at Waipapa and upstream at Maraetai Dam.

Take care here, watch small children very carefully. The water is deep and the traffic is fast.

Please replace cache carefully so that it cannot be seen.
