Sept. 11, 2001: My Geocaching friends, my heart is full of pain and sorrow for the horrific events of this day. So please any of you that are able, please do anything you can to help the victims of today's terrible attacks, by giving blood if you can or money to the red cross. Thank you
Elwood
Well I will post news and plans for this event as they happen here folks, so this listing will change and get better as the event gets closer. please stay tuned here for more.
Please post a note here with your R.S.V.P. so we can plan on the number that will be attending.state the number in your party that will attend, and what you will be contributing to the dinner, lets all try to bring something different, the last potluck turned out good so i'm not real worried. one thing tho there are picnic tables in the area, but none close together, so i'm thinking we might need some card tables or something, there is some nice grass for those that want to bring picnic blankets and such. chairs is something else that you might want to bring, if you dont want to sit on the lawn.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all again and having fun playing games and helping to do some positive P.R. for Geo Caching as a great family activity. Also That Geocachers are a caring bunch of individuals by cleaning up the litter we find during the activities of the day.
Great news today folks!
I just got off the phone with Kent Mayberry,(IDOS) and he has agreed to be the chef extraordinaire, for our little gathering on the 15th. so come prepared to eat good that night! Kent and Company have agreed to cook the main course for the meal, and the geocachers will provide the fixins, salads, beans, desserts, chips and drinks.geocachers may also be asked to pony up a dollar or so per head to help defray the costs of the main course, not sure on that yet, but if we do ask please dont be offended, i guarantee you'll get your dollars worth from the meal!
Thanks to RogerB for his help in setting that up for us!
as i have said earlier this will be an all day kind of affair, but for those wanting only to come for the dinner that part will be around 5 or 6 pm. and hopefully we can have a local 3 card poker game, unless you are all tired of the poker game , as it has been played at the last 2 gatherings, let me know your ideas, the Cache-U-Nuts, have agreed to help, so i'm sure whatever it is we will have an entertaing game to play.
planning is going well and things are falling into place, mark your calendars folks, you wont want to miss this one!
hope to see you all there!
i have been trying to drum up some sponsors from the media and other places to give us some prizes for our games so far we have on board, RogerB Kall 910 radio, has given us a $200.00 backpack, which will probably be given away at the dinner. Jennifer Reid from KSL T.V. who has generously given us some t-shirts and some kitchen towels from Doug Millers Outdoors tv show, THANK YOU!
BunkerDave, and the MEGACACHE CREW, will be awarding their prizes and sharing their stories, and i know those will be exciting, i cant wait to hear them!
