Geocache Description:

The above Co-ordinates are for the suggested parking area, the Cache isn’t located there!
This Multi-Cache starts off on flat pavements in the village, but gradually leads on to fairly steep and muddy footpaths until you reach the final Cache. It should take just under an hour to complete and is approx 1.2 miles car door to car door. The footpaths are not suitable for strollers or bicycles. The final Cache is a 0.75lt lock ‘n’ lock in a Camo bag.

The ‘Past’ part of this Cache begins at a lovely Mosaic wall which pictures some of the important places in Wroughton’s history. It was unveiled in 2001 as part of the Millennium celebrations.
Wroughton’s RAF Hospital which was built during the Second World War has now been sadly demolished. In recent times it played a vital role in the repatriation of released hostages, including John McCarthy and Terry Waite. Many casualties from the Falklands War were also sent here.
The Airfield, which is now home to the Science Museum, still exists and also played a vital role during wartime with the maintenance and storage of some 7000 Aircraft.
The Race horse, Brown Jack, was trained at stables in Wroughton. He began racing as a hurdler, then switched to flat racing and won the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Ascot on 6 occasions during the late 1920’s early 1930’s. A pub in the village is named after him and for many years his skeleton was displayed at the Natural History Museum in London.

Once you have parked up, make your way to:

Once you have written in the answers above, work out the following to give you the location & Question to answer.

N51 (N+E) H . N (J+H) (A+E)
W001 4 M . (D-N) F (N-E)

You will have to cross a busy road on the way to this location, so please take care.

Once at the above co-ordinates, find Pam's Statistics. These are 6 numbers arranged ??? x ??? and let them be:-

O P Q R S T

The Cache is located at:

N51 (S-N) (D-R) . T (R-H) (NxN)
W001 G (R+A+E+H) . O (R+P) (B-N-E)

The path you need to follow can be very boggy and slippery in places during wet weather. I’d advise wearing good walking boots or wellies here. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE IS SOME ELECTRIC ANIMAL FENCING CLOSE TO THE FOOTPATH. Once over the second stile, you will need to get onto another footpath to reach the final Cache location. There are several routes you can take to achieve this and one of them is a steep, muddy scramble! I will let you work out the other ways for yourselves. Once on the other path, it’s a fairly easy walk to the Cache.
There are some lovely views from here and it is often possible to see Buzzards, Kestrels, Foxes, Muntjac Deer and Pheasants…Hence the name of the Cache!

There are several other Caches within walking distance such as GC15CVJ by The Wombles and GC11ZK9 by RoobyDoo.

Happy Caching!
