The Cobequid Trail is a 13.5 km trail network through central
Colchester County, the Town of Truro and the Village of Bible Hill.
Following the Cobequid Trail takes you along a former railway,
through Acadian dykelands, through forests and along brooks, and
along the Salmon River. The Cobequid Trail is a cooperative effort
of the County of Colchester, Town of Truro, and the Village of
Bible Hill and was developed beginning in 1998 with significant
contribution from community volunteers, the private sector and the
Province of Nova Scotia.
This section of the Cobequid Trail is known as the Dominion
Atlantic Railway (DAR) Trail, an abandoned railway line that used
to be an important link between Truro and Windsor. More information
is available Cobequid
Trail website.
