Geocache Description:

The cache of the kindly spirit who tempers the winds from the valley is placed with permission from the Mount Nittany Conservancy.

The daughter of Chief Chun-Eh-Hoe had been born on the banks of the Juniata River in the early days of the world.

After a war with the people to the south, this eldest child assumed leadership until her brother, Wo-Wi-Na-Pe, would be old enough for such a role.

She was a peace loving leader, but led the warriors to battle when necessary.

When an old couple asked for her help to protect their crop of corn from the cold, cruel winds that blew down from the Seven Mountains, she arranged for many to help gather poles and build a wind break.

After a century of life, she died and her body was laid in the center of the valley. There was a fierce storm that night. At dawn, rather than the small funeral mound, there was a tree covered mountain which would forever protect the people from the storms which came from the north.
