Geocache Description:

Reconciliation Place is a very special place where I like to contemplate and learn to share and accept the one people of Australia. This cache helps you explore just one part of this place.

The National Capital Authority describes it as "a lasting symbol of our shared journey".

"Reconciliation Place recognises the importance of understanding the shared history of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, and reaffirms our commitment to the cause of reconciliation as an important national priority.

The location of Reconciliation Place in the Parliamentary Zone places the reconciliation process physically and symbolically at the heart of Australia’s democratic life and institutions. It signifies the importance the Australian people place on the ongoing process of reconciliation and is a prominent symbol of the nation’s commitment to healing the wounds of the past.

Reconciliation Place provides an opportunity to represent a shared history from the perspective of the original owners and those who came later: artworks about achievements, partnerships, of connection to the land and waters, and of belonging.

The design of Reconciliation Place is simple, appropriately scaled and strong. A central circular mound rises effortlessly, emerging from the enclosure of the paved promenade — new horizons are revealed to the visitor. The mound is outward looking, each position providing an individual perspective. Pathways link Reconciliation Place to Commonwealth Place, national institutions and Lake Burley Griffin.

A series of public artworks, slivers, splice the mound and pathways. Others slivers will be added over time. The slivers will create a myriad of pathways through Reconciliation Place, which enable individual interpretation and understanding of our shared journey towards reconciliation.
"

At the listed coordinates (WP1), you will find three large rocks. On the rocks, you will find special quotations and artworks.

X = Number of letters in the first name of the person who spoke these words:

"Aboriginal Dreaming sings to us of living in harmony with the land and with each other".

Y = Number of letters in the first name of the person who spoke these words:

"Take the responsibility and share parts of your country and our living cultures in a good way with fellow Australians and the rest of the world"

Z = the number of stars above the big fish.

At WP2, you will find "three cast bronze slivers [which] create the focus of the Women Artwork. The concave etched copper surface of each sliver presents a biographical sketch of Dr Faith Bandler, Lady Jessie Street and Dr Evelyn Scott. The artwork serves to remind us of the determination of these women and their collective contribution to Reconciliation in Australia, including through their roles in the 1967 Referendum. The slivers are arranged to form a contemplative space adjacent to a circular seat, which incorporates an audio feature comprising personal reflections by Dr Faith Bandler, Dr Evelyn Scott and Sir Laurence Street. Two key words and a quotation feature on the convex side of each sliver, highlighting personal values or qualities particular to each individual. Incorporated into the surrounding pavement are additional words embodying qualities and values considered mutually important to all three women."

A = Number of nameplates on the surrounding pavement with those special words.

Calculate the original GZ as follows:

S35 17.(X+Z)(Z)(Y+X+X-A) E149 8.(3*(X+Y+Z+A)+3)

Checksum: 68

Then subtract 1 from South Fractionals and 48 from East Fractionals to calculate the new GZ!

The cache was originally in a different location, attached by two strong magnets and quite hard to find - now it should be an easier find needing lots of stealth.Just be careful to replace it how you found it, leaning.
