Geocache Description:

Located near the famous Temple in the Sea.

Traveling on the Solomon Hochoy highway, take the turn off at Chase Village, follow the brown road signs pointing you towards the Temple in the Sea, Hanuman Murti and Indian Caribbean Museum (both of which are also interesting sites to visit if you have the time).

You will travel through the villages of Carapichaima and Waterloo, until you reach the site of the Temple in the Sea.
You can park your vehicle in the parking area at co-ordinates N10 28.896 W61 28.442.

There is a small statue dedicated to Siewdass Saddhu, the devout indian labourer, who in colonial days build the temple in the sea with his own hands. The temple is site is open to visitors between the hours of 7am to 7pm and you can enjoy magnificent 180 degrees views from the site, as well as some very beautiful sunsets. Please pay attention to be respectful when visiting this site, since it is a very sacred location to many people. You may also consider leaving a donation at the box near the temple entrance, for the upkeep of the area.

The cache is located near the cremation site, please show respectful behaviour here as well and do not create loud noise/talking or running and other things that may disturb the other visitors. When looking for the cache, pay regular caution as with any cache in the tropics, since you may never know what insects or other creatures you may encounter. Also please pay attention not to draw unnecessary focus to the cache when finding and placing it back in its original location, so that others (unfamiliar with geocaching) may not disturb it later.

The original cache consisted of a plastic box approximately 10"x6"x2" and is wrapped in a black plastic bag. It contains a special book with some positive sayings and thoughts in it. Feel free to add your own positive thoughts and impressions. In particular since this site and monument of the Temple in the Sea is such an inspirational place, where one can see the commitment, devotion and passion of one man. Surely his work can inspire many others to also achieve great dreams in their life time.

Please do not remove this book, the log book and key items that belong to the cache. You may take one of the other items if you like, but please remember to also place something back in the cache when you do. The original cache unfortunately was destroyed, but has been replaced since and remains in the same location in a slightly smaller plastic box. Please pay extra attention to muggles in the area when looking for this cache and be careful about placing it back in its location after you found it, to ensure that there is minimal chance of it being destroyed again.

Always remember to keep T&T beautiful! Do not litter and if you find any trash and you have a garbage bag with you or see a trash bin near, please clean it up.
