Three Blind Mice, Three Blind Mice,
See How They Run, See How They Run!
They all ran after the farmer's wife,
She cut off their tails with a carving knife.
Have you ever seen such a sight in your life?
As Three Blind Mice?

Dateline Bradford, Wisconsin - 1840
A case of animal cruelty was filed today against the farmers wife for allegedly de-tailing three mice. Ms. Farmer contends that she acted purely in self defense, after the "little varmints came after me". The mice, each of which suffers from vision impairment, had a different tale (oops, we mean story) to tell. The mice contend that they simply followed the smell of the wheel of cheddar Ms. Farmer was curing, and had no idea that she was even in the same room, what with their lack of vision and all. According to witnesses shortly on the scene, Ms. Farmer grabbed a carving knife to perform the heinous deed, and with no sign of remorse, cleanly cut off all three tails. The three mice were quick in spirit, and gathering up their disembodied tails, ran out the door and into the adjacent woods. Ms. Farmer pursued them screaming "I'll get you my little darlings", but was quickly subdued by neighbors. The three mice, fearing that Ms. Farmer would find them and finish them off with her carving knife, decided to hide deep in the woods. This woods has henceforth been known as Carver's Rock.
Mice, being small of brain, can't remember much, so they had to write down most of the location where their tails are hidden:
42° 36.abc North by 88° 49.xyz West.
Each mouse then only had to memorize two numbers:
Mouse one memorized 'a' Latitude and 'x' Longitude
mouse two memorized 'b' Latitude and 'y' Longitude
while mouse three memorized 'c' Latitude and 'z' Longitude
All three mice then scurried off into the woods on their own, each to find their own shelter. By finding all three mice, you can reassemble the exact location where they hid their tails. Each mouse is numbered; 1, 2, and 3. Each mouse has two number underneath him; the first number is that mouse's memorized Latitude, and the second number is that mouse's longitude. So mouse one has the tenth's position of lat . & long., mouse two has the hundredth's position of lat. & long., and mouse three has the thousandth's position of lat. & long.
