Last year my wife, ReikiRobyn, and I went for a dip in the
two-tiered pools. This is not a good idea when the surf is as high
as it was that day. I’m a big sissy so I got out after the first
wave washed over the lava ledge. OK, I screamed like a little girl
and climbed for my life, ok?
My wife stayed in for another “wash, rinse, repeat” cycle. She
got out just before a huge whopper of a wave broke over the top of
the upper pool and swirled all its contents down into the lower
pool. If she’d stayed in any longer, she’d no longer be here to
smack me upside the head for naming this cache after her, “The
Floozie in the Jacuzzi”.
Don’t let this bug you, but the substitute floozie, who is
guarding the cache, is also a sissy (like me) and doesn’t want to
go near the pools, though he’s not far away. If you want to,
however, just make sure the surf action is not too high. Be careful
as you climb down.
We parked here: N 21 01.291. W 156 37.823 – 230’ elevation - but
there are other ways to get near the cache. You can look them up,
or just park where we did (don’t block the gate). From here it’s a
nice walk down the second red-dirt track. Do not leave valuables in
your car.
The pools are at N 21 01.507 W 156 37.983.
Small note on cache maintenance: Thanks again to
Selina_and_Eric for babysitting Floozie in my absence.
