Hudson and Nancy Winn Preserve
Infamous question: Where do you find all these
places?
Cryptic answer: Serendipity!
Waiting for lunch one afternoon, I happened to grab one of the
free magazines that were in the waiting area. Most of it was stuff
that wasn’t really stuff I cared about, but one article
caught my attention. It spoke of an organization and mentioned some
of its inventory. With this, I was off to do a Google search!
I have had my eye on a few places of late but have not had the
time to take a hike through them to get a feel for them and
ultimately place a cache in them. Blame, or thank, the Ranger for
this one! I had thought he and Honey might want to solve the Murder
Mystery at Myosotis but it must not have been in the cards so I had
to come up with something else. Staging this multi was what I came
up with. This one consists of five traditional/non-traditional
hides that lead you to the final, a 30-cal ammo can.
The trails are mostly ATV-type trails and one was originally an
old farm-to-market road. The trail markers consist of spray-painted
rectangles on trees but they do not stick out that well so pay
attention to your surroundings so that you do not wander off on
what you think is a trail only to find that you are now on POSTED
property.
Parking is just SW of the I.P. on the side of the road and the
preserve is only marked with a small, white arrow. There are some
small markers on some of the trees on the side of the road if you
approach from Knox-Cave Road.
One last bit of information: you may have to cross some small
streams depending on what time of the year you are here.
Don’t worry, they are not that bad!!
