A series of caches on the Llangattock escarpment located near
some of the major cave system entrances.
Just when you thought you had finished the series (and there are
a few more to come too) !
This cache is located on Mynydd Llangattwg at Figure of 8 Hole,
above Pant-y-Rhiw quarry.
Mynydd Llangattwg is covered with many dolines and sinks
indicating the large and extensive cave systems below. This is a
typical example of a doline on Llangatock - a large oblong double
shake hole, with (unfortunately for cavers) a very small cave
system beneath.
Mynydd Llangattwg is a glorious location on a good day with
excellent panoramic views. This location has excellent views and is
well worth the walk.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. The weather here can be very changeable and you need to be
prepared if it changes. It's not a nice place to be in foul
weather.
2. Cache within your abilities.
3. Caves – Caving is not a dangerous sport if carried out by
trained and responsible cavers following recognised safety
procedures. However, to the uninitiated caves can be dangerous
places. You are advised not to enter the caves without the proper
instruction in the techniques and equipment necessary.
