Geocache Description:

Carmel-by-the-Sea: 100 Acre Wood & Stealth

A Geocaching Tour of Carmel-by-the-Sea

This series is designed to offer a variety of geocaching challenges ranging from level 1 to level 3 in difficulty, and from level 1 to level 4 in terrain. Some of the caches will require accessing difficult terrain, and some will be a quick easy drive up grab. Most of this series is located in a busy urban area and may require stealth techniques, a high level of patience, advance planning, or return visits.

Nestled between the bustling downtown village of Carmel-by-the-Sea and the edge of the famed Pebble Beach 17 mile Drive is a scenic residential area named Carmel Woods.

The narrow windy streets twist up and around the hills often ending in a maze of dead end streets. There are many hidden pedestrian pathways that connect the streets, along with a couple of fire access roads. In the middle of this wooded oasis stretches a deep brushy canyon.

Your cache is sitting somewhere in the 100 Acre Wood, overlooking the canyon. This is a quick drive up and grab cache, although it may require some ingenuity to retrieve. It is small and can hold a look book and mini items. The stealth factor will depend on your time of day. Dog walkers and joggers are out in the morning and at dusk. The rest of the day is up for grabs.

Enjoy!
