2005 was the inaugural GBES Halloween event with a great time had by all. For 2006 we "tweaked" it a little to provide a more GBES community/family spirited event. 2007 presents another unique event!
10/26/07 UPDATE We have had a couple of people ask were the finish line will be, so here it is. The finish line will be at the Round Table Pizza at N 39° 29.144 W 119° 44.796 at 2:00PM
DATE: Saturday, October 27, 2007. Wear your winter woolies!!!
TIME: 10AM- check-in. Each team will receive a packet that includes the real caches & the scavenger hunt challenges. 2PM- FINISH- cameras & paperwork submitted, & your finish time recorded. Start & Finish lines are at different locations this year.
START: South Valleys Regional Sports Complex
FINISH: Pizza someplace north of the start
TEAMS: Teams may consist of no less than two people and no more than the number of seatbelts you have in your vehicle. Individuals are welcome but you will be placed on a team before starting the event & unite under one team name.
AWARDS: There will be two TEAM awards.
REQUIREMENTS: All teams will be required to have a digital camera & a few pens to fill in the information required, spare batteries, warm clothing, snacks/drinks. Don't have a digital camera,.....borrow one!
HOW DO I SIGN UP! Post a note here and PLEASE include the # of children under 16 on your team. We want to be sure we have enough treat bags for all our little goblins!
WHEN I SIGN UP WHAT DO I INCLUDE? Please include your Team Name & the # of adults & # of youth on your team (be creative with your team name, it is HALLOWEEN!!!)

HOW WILL I BE JUDGED? All real caches will have a point value. Completing the real caches and scavenger hunt challenges will earn points. Just remember that the final check-in is at 2PM. BONUS POINTS if you come in costume!
REAL CACHES: Real caches for this event will be micro caches. Each micro will contain a log & slips of paper with a symbol on each slip . Each symbol has a pre-assigned point value (the point value is a secret that only GBES Admin knows!) Each team should choose ONE slip of paper from the cache container. You may choose all the same or you may choose a variety BUT you can only have in your possession 5 slips of paper. There are only 5 real caches; therefore each team should have ONLY 5 slips of paper. If you have more than 5, “tisk, tisk,” you will be penalized 10 points for all slips of paper with a symbol in possession over the allotted 5.
NO WHINING POLICEY: GBES ADMIN will NOT tolerate whining! You will be deducted 1, 000,000,000 points for WHINING!!! AND put in charge of next years event!
