Geocache Description:

I wanted to let people know about a bit of lost history. Was finally able to get it up and running again. If you have already found this one, feel free to find it again. Has new log book,

This cache is located at the site of the African Methodist Episcopa Cemetery. This is the oldest cemetery of the African-Americans of Washington County. The church and cenetery were abandoned in 1860 when many of the African-Americans moved out of the county. The grounds, totaling about a half acre, were fenced by the Washington County Cemetery Commission. A strone was set in 1981 and paid for by the Trustees of Jphn Williams Negro Scholarshio Fund, Miss Lulie Davis and the Washington County Cemetery Commission. This cache is a rubbermaind container. Hope you enjoy the cache and the lost history as much as I did.
