the cache is located near a concrete structure about one-third mile east of east nicolaus. the old structure caught my eye because of the date "1934" etched into it.
in 1934 the U.S. was struggling thru a major economic depression. chancellor dollfuss of austria was assassinated by the nazis, and hitler became the fuhrer of germany. the USSR was admitted to the league of nations. the dionne sisters, of canada, became the first quintuplets to survive beyond infancy. mao zedong began the long march north in china with 100,000 soldiers.
