Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. Refer to the music image (links below) and answer the questions to solve the puzzle. Bring a pen.

Large copies of the Faerie's Aire and Death March can be found all over the internet. Here are a few locations: [1] [2] [3] Click on the image to get a larger image. I also posted one in the gallery, but it may be too small.
  • Find the chords before letter G.
    • S=0 if the chords would get slower.
    • S=1 if the chords would get faster.
    • S=2 if the chords would stay at the same tempo.
  • Below rehearsal mark C there is a half note with two x's in front of it.
    • T=1 if the pitch of that note is A
    • T=2 if the pitch of that note is B
    • T=3 if the pitch of that note is C
  • U = The total number of notes scored for the 12th century Lute, minus 3. (Example: If there were 3 F's, and 1 G, there would be 4 notes.) Composer's notes: the 3rd note is only one note, and the 7th note is only one note. Disregard all those extraneous ink blots.
  • V = the number of 64th notes in the 2/4 measure in the treble clef .
  • Find the bar where you play exactly what you played in the measure before. Immediately following is a new time signature. W= the number of beats per measure in the new time signature.
  • X = The number of the measure with the loudest dynamic marking - 1.
  • The lowest note of the piece is a grace note near rehearsal mark B.
    • Y=3 if that note is F
    • Y=4 if that note is E
    • Y=5 if that note is D
  • At rehearsal I there is a metronome marking. How many quarter notes could you play per second at that speed? (round to nearest quarter note). Subtract 4 to get Z.
