BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE KIDS WITH YOU. There is a gap that runs along both sides of the bridge that a child could easily slip through.
Parking is possible at the nearby TSC Store on Baseline Road although there are reports that the staff get a little edgy during business hours. If you want to avoid a possible issue you can park a little further east at the Howard Johnson's or further west on Baseline there is a parking area for the hiking trails on the north side. From the TSC Store follow the abandoned railbed to the cache site.
There used to be a rail line here that crossed the 401, Bowmanville Creek, Baseline Road and then I think it ended up at the Goodyear plant. The rails were removed several years ago but the path remains along with the old metal bridge that crossed Bowmanville Creek. I wanted to hide this one in a spot that would require some courage and climbing but my wife talked me out of it. It is therefore easily accessible although tucked away in its hiding spot.
