Geocache Description:

Walkertown Flash Mob Event

This cache event is inspired by the Grand Strand Flash Mob Event that was held on July 21, 2007 by Team Southern Exposure and Preacherspal.

ItsSkeeter and Merrycacher thought this was one of the most unique event ideas we have seen in awhile and much different than what we usually see in this area.

A Flash Mob Gathering of Geocachers is only 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign the log sheet DURING this time to claim the event.

You've heard of mega-events? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer. The event will begin precisely at 7:30 PM on Saturday, September 15. This event is going to be held at a local park near several existing caches. At exactly 7:30 PM (as determined by your GPS clock) Merrycacher and ItsSkeeter will place an ammo box for log sheets near the coordinates. As you arrive, we'll hand you a "log sheet." Participants will sign the log sheets (which will later become a log book). To qualify for attendance, drop them in the designated ammo box (near the coords). We will draw names from the box of log sheets for FTF honors and for several door prizes. At a designated time, we will take a group photo. At exactly 7:45 PM, the log sheets will be packed up and sealed away. The event area will be evacuated without a trace. Events that happen after 7:45 PM do not count as part of THIS event. Only those participants whose names appear on the log sheets may log the event.

ITINERARY:
7:15 - 7:29 PM Participants: Wait patiently in your automobile or stroll around the park. At 7:29 PM make your way toward the event coordinates.
7:30 PM - The box for the log sheets will be placed near the listed coords. This is the signal that the event has begun! Log sheets and writing instruments will be placed next to the box.
Participants: Sign individual log sheets and drop them in the collection box. Take TB's to the TB table.
Participants: Mingle. Share stories. Brag. Trade swag and TB's. Ooh and Aah over coins. Take pictures. Have the event meal (Hershey kisses will be distributed) CITO the local area!
Photographer: 7:38 PM preps to take group photo.
7:40 PM Participants: Go over to the posted coords for a group photo and assemble FAST. Listen to the photographer for directions. Group photo is taken.
7:42 PM Participants: Go to the posted coords. We will call out the winners of the FTF honors and door prizes.
7:44 PM One minute warning is called "It is now 7:44!" Participants: Prep to leave, but don't "look" like your are prepping. (You might want to "secretly" organize if you will re-form after dispersal.)
7:45 PM EXACTLY Participants: Wait for it ... then LEAVE the area (right at 7:45 PM) and meet elsewhere if desired. The log sheet box will be packed up (if you don't get it in time you can't log the event).
