THE CEMETERY:
While there is no on site signage, this site is known as the
“Hope Cemetery” or “Old Hope Cemetery”. Many local pioneers are
buried here.
THE CACHE:
THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE ABOVE FAKE COORDINATES which
lead near the Tourist Info Center, where you may or may not be able
to get help according to other cachers Rather, we have arranged
a small challenge for you.
Job #1 is to find the Old Hope Cemetery. Next you will want
to know that the Cache is located 5 paces from Private
Robinson. Be sure you are at the right cemetery because Private
Robinson is not in the adjoining "Our Lady of Good Hope Cemetery"
which will be the subject of another installment in the BC Spirit
Quest Series.
Be discrete when looking for this small plastic container with a
logbook. There is room for coins and small TB's.
INTERESTING TOMBSTONES/PERSONS:
A near complete list of internees here is linked at the top of
the page. Several examples include:
Woods, Vaughn Leigh, b. 26 Jul 1914, d. 3 Jul 1941, Whitehorse,
Head stone says “Happy Landings” because he was a pilot.
Robinson, S.C., b. 29 Noc 1894, d. 30 Oct 1943, Private Imp Vet
1914-1916 along with several other veterans clustered together.
Families with streets named after them are represented including
several Raab’s and a Flood. There are a seemingly disproportionate
number of drowning victims memorialized here, reflecting the
historical importance of the river to Hope.
THE RULES:
1. NO NIGHT CACHING – No posted rules but consider this Cemetery

2. The actual cache is hidden outside the grounds.
3. RESPECT the locations and other visitors. Do not cache if
