Geocache Description:

This is just a little pit stop at a junction of roads. Not a destination cache, unless you’re freezing & tired. Then it might be considered Heaven. I’ve wanted to find this simple little site for over a year, but was either stopped by snow, tree falls, or the simple menagerie of roads. Finally…SUCCESS! I brought the old man up with me, with chainsaw, but it wasn’t necessary today, as it was 10 days ago after the storm of the year blew through the area. Didn’t have to cut 6 trees down like our very determined friends from the north, the Kootenay Pirates, had to do when they went up to Camel’s Prairie just after that infamous storm. I’m not expecting a lot of visitors to this cache, it’s just somewhere that I’ve wanted to put one since I heard about this spot. Probably mostly for passers-by, cruising to other destinations. You’ll see a lot of nice scenery any which way you get here. There’s actually a 9-10 mile loop in the Camel’s Prairie area that takes you by here & past the last road that goes up to Camel’s Prairie ridge. These coords will be important to snowmobilers, although it might be a bit hard to get to the cache box in the winter. It could be done, though, by a determined cacher. Enjoy the long mountain drive & the scenery. If you do the loop you’ll get good views of Sundance Lookout, Hunt Peak, lower Priest Lake with Bartoo, Kalispell, 4-mile, 8-mile & Papoose Islands, even one of the Twin Islands, and many other landmarks too numerous to name. Ya might want to grab a map, even a snowmobiler’s map, on the way up. They do help a bit. Be safe, respect the area of the cache, and have fun!

CONGRATULATIONS to Moun10Bike on the FTF!
