Geocache Description:

To approach from the South - Go down Moses Rock Rd to the Car Park. Then a walk of 1.7kms north along the Cape to Cape track to bring you close.

If you want the tough, exciting approach, involving a fair amount of 4x4 and walking. Turn down Quinninup Rd and bear right onto the 4x4 track at the National Park sign. The end of this track leaves you within reasonable striking distance.

Give yourself some time to do this one and enjoy the journey.

This is at a rare and intriguing spot. Well worth the trip particularly in winter and after rain. The Cache is in an Ammo Box.

There are two main rock types in this area, both very different in form and age. The basement rocks are a combination of granite, gneiss and other hard, metamorphic rock, which are between 1500 and 600 million years old. These underlying rocks are very resistant to erosion.

Lying directly on top of these rocks is 'Tamala' Limestone, a much younger rock that has consolidated from wind-blown sand dune deposited over the last 2 million years. This limestone is highly permeable and much drainage runs underground where extensive cave systems have been carved out.

Springs occur near the coast at the granite - limestone interface. Only a few flow all year round and very few in the same manner as here.
