Geocache Description:

In the grounds of the estate, recently transformed with the Stable Lake Path suitable acess for all abilities.Parking is available at N55 33.825/W3 50.333.

This area now has parking,benches,picnic tables and fishing jettys for the disabled.Variety of wild life.You may pass nearby the memorial to the Cameronian Regiment. THE 26TH FOOT, OR CAMERONIAN REGIMENT, raised on 14 May 1689 in Douglas from the ranks of the Covenanters, taking its name from one of the most famous of their number, Richard Cameron, 'The Lion of the Covenant’. Also in view is the remains of Douglas Castle, well known as "Castle Dangerous" following publication of a novel of that name by Sir Walter Scott.Also explore the newly regenerated gardens close by.When you have finished,why not visit the local museum next to St Brides Church or get a bite to eat at our Cafes and Bakery
