Geocache Description:

This cache is one of two caches placed in beautiful woodlands by the side of the picturesque River Don.

The recommended parking is a TPT car park where access is gained by the telephone kiosk at N53 29.352 W001 32.970 but there are ample parking opportunities on the nearby roadside – just park sensibly and responsibly.

The cache has been placed by the side of a well signposted track through the woodland although at the time of placing the GPS signal was not good. However if you follow the brief instructions in the next paragraph and use the hint if necessary I am sure you will have little difficulty finding the cache.

Walk from the recommended parking area to the road junction and take the public footpath sign over the field at the corner. Cross the quiet lane down the footpath to the metal bridge over the River Don. Cross the bridge or indeed if the water is not too high cross by the nearby stepping stones (see photo on site). Take the path to the right passing a stone gatepost with a hole in it and then turn right at the junction of paths following the ‘B’ footpath to the cache site.

Whilst in the area of this and other nearby caches why not visit Wortley Top Forge Industrial Museum - you will find details on the website. It is open on Sundays only and I believe the cost is £3 per adult. A great bit of local history.

The cache is a 1 litre Tupperware style container covered in cammo tape containing a log book, pen, pencil, sharpener, assorted swaps and a cache box card.
