Geocache Description:

Jacobsburg is a quiet lush green state park in Northampton County. It's a great place to spend a day hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding. The terrain varies but many of the trails follow the creek and are relatively flat.

This cache is located in Jacobsburg State Park, which lies on the Northeast edge of the Lehigh Valley just north of Nazareth, PA. I grew up in Nazareth and have spent countless days enjoying J-Burg for hiking, and mountain biking.

The park offers over 18 miles of marked trails and most are open to biking. Non-biking areas are clearly marked. Recent trail improvements have set the park up for all riding abilities. Boardwalks have been built over many of the wet areas and gravel was spread to flatten out rocky sections. They even built a bridge at (N 40° 47.171 W 075° 18.190) to cross the Bushkill creek without getting your feet wet. :-) Expert riders won't be disappointed either. The entire park is networked with hours of single track riding.

To find the cache take PA Route 33 to the Belfast Exit, near Nazareth.(N40° 46.738 W075° 16.938) At the exit travel less than ¼ mi. northeast to (N40° 46.828 W075° 16.819), and make a left onto Belfast road. The main parking area will be on your left at (N40° 46.968 W075° 17.574) but, I suggest the parking area at the intersection of Belfast and Keller road (N40° 47.903 W075° 18.575). This is the northern edge of the park.

The cash is a medium sized clear plastic container with a white lid. It's located just off a marked trail and requires only a few steps of bushwhacking. Please make sure to log your visit and take a few photos. In addition to the standard logbook, the cache also contains a pack of garbage bags for anyone who wants to cache in and trash out.

Make sure you log your visit online when you get home and please post pictures of Jacobsburg and the cache.

Happy Geocaching and I hope you enjoy J-Burg as much as I do,
Mark 4RO

P.S.: After a tough day of geocaching treat you and your team to a great ice cream stop at Petey's Eatey's just outside the park at (N40° 46.810 W075° 16.722).
