Kabutroid: As mentioned in the below DNF log, it is my unfortunate duty to archive this cache in the name of safety. Due to the sudden appearance of a hunting post in the trees near the cache, I feel that this is far too great a risk to subject geocachers to. I found myself unable to find the geocache due to the unexpected disappearance of the waypoint on my GPS (although if it's any consolation, combined with the one I got on my other cache... I might as well get the matching set).
So despite hunting around for a good half hour or so in the quickly dwindling light, I unfortunately came up with nothing. I probably would have stayed and hunted longer, but by the time I gave up, it was around 9:00pm, and it was starting to get pretty dark under all of the leaves. And man, those leaves. I can barely believe how much growth there is inside of here right now. And in some areas, there's some vine plant of some sort that's absolutely taking over, making such a dense layer of leaves and vines about waist-high that I was just about able to roll onto it like a blanket to get across areas. All of the visual cues that I was hoping to look for were long since covered in new foliage or otherwise perhaps moved by the natural falling down of trees or branch movement. klblue's trail was nowhere to be seen, and I was just stumbling around, making myself hot, sweaty, and covered in forest dirt. I think I was pulling twigs out of my hair for a solid half hour after all of this.
And as mentioned below, due to the presence of a hunting treestand, I feel very unsafe travelling back to this location to retrieve the cache container. I will attempt to identify who the hunter is, and if I am able to speak with them, I should be able to retrieve the cache container in safety, or at least in as much safety as wandering through thick old-growth forest type of foliage will allow [:P]. Otherwise, if it's not the owner of the field beside there, and the people I know in Landmark don't know who it is... it may perhaps be best to let nature return this to the ground in the only way it knows how... time. We'll see what happens.
So thanks everyone who found the cache for coming out to visit the bizarrely dense little forest area in the middle of nothing but fields. It was a fun run, but unfortunately circumstance has forced my hand in the matter. Hopefully you won't forget about the location or cache, and hopefully I can retrieve the logbook to snap pics of it. Worst case scenario, I'll jot down the missing names myself and take a picture of that for the sake of completion. But we'll see where the future takes me. I really hate the idea of leaving geotrash out here, so hopefully lady luck will guide my hand to the right person in this.
And despite both of my country caches now being out of commission, don't worry... a new one, also out in this area of the country, is being planned. It had somewhat been in the works for a while, but I think I'll just have to ramp up the timeline a little bit on it. Although I'm thinking it will be in a bit easier a location to check on... most likely associated with yet another one of the places that I played as a kid.
