Geocache Description:

NOTE: This cache is fully operational all year round, however, only accessible at night while campground is in use...mid May to end of September.

Note: Its best not to camp at this campground..as the rangers here are very unfriendly to geo-cachers !!!! See and read logs for geo jamboree 8 GC233TD for detailed comments on this subject.

This is an introduction to night caching. A very easy straightforward non-complicated night only caching experience, suitable for family and all ages.[ Well..perhaps not the real small ones !! ]

Do not do during day light., as we are not even able to find many of the tacks.

The above coordinates are not the cache site, they only get you to the starting point. This cache was part of Geo-Jamboree 3,4,5,6 and 7.

Note: In mid June, do not start this cache before 8:45 pm, as its probably not dark enough?

A minimum of two light sources are recommended. A head lamp works best, but a 2 D cell flashlight works fine. Carry spare batteries. Mini maglight AA / AAA or LED lites not recommended. Procedure is: from start location, shine lights into woods and find first glint or glow tack. Walk to it, and from it, repeat procedure, finding next one and so on. Route does not necessarily follow a near straight line and does wander on and off trails. When you find two red reflectors, one above other [ : ] look for and find cache. Once cache, a 30 cal ammo can or similar sized tupper wear container filled with kids stuff… is located, do not disturb or re-arrange it’s setting., REPLACE EXACTLY AS FOUND. From this point , continue along white glint trail back to road.
No serious bushwhacking is necessary.

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[Max distance between tacks is usually less than 100 feet, and at times, more than one reflector is visible.]
