Geocache Description:

“OHIO SPIRIT QUEST”

The Ohio Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Buckeye Pioneers. This series is inspired by and a continuation of the Indiana Spirit Quest caches created by Six Dog Team. In just over three years, the SPIRIT QUEST has grown to over 550 caches, with the hiding teams growing as well. The Ohio Spirit Quest has begun to grow with nineteen current hides in one Northwest Ohio county, with four current caching teams, three each with A Man and His Dog... and one with A Woman and her Dog. Over 1,000 cachers have logged over 20,000 finds. One cache machine found 111 ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours only). PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF POSTED CEMETERY HOURS, TYPICALLY DAWN TO DUSK. ANY FIND LOGS INDICATING NIGHT CACHING WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE.

Come with us now for a virtual tour of this old burial ground via this page, then go out and find the cache!

OHIO SPIRIT QUEST #019
”Georgia on My Mind"

This is our nineteenth hide across the border in Ohio. Listen to what TMA has to say:

Welcome to Lockport Cemetery, Brady Township, Williams County, Ohio.

This is a wonderful cemetery, tucked into the intersection of a few county roads, just west of the old covered bridge near Lockport, Ohio.

Lockport cemetery sprawls along the hillside at a fairly calm intersection, traveling back into the field. A section of the cemetery on the north side is split apart, with a few dozen stones too worn to read.

The main portion of the cemetery contains an incredibly well kept drive, turning through some trees. A few folks of note buried here are the Bowers, John and Magdalena. John, a local farmer for over forty years, was a hard working local with ten children.

There might be an FTF Geocoin involved, I forget :) TMA

Various Headstones

The cache container is a camo'd small lok 'n' lok. -- BYOP. Plenty of parking. If you find a fallen US flag, please stick it back in the ground. As always, please be respectful, and cache in, trash out. Pray for our Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, CoastGuardsmen and Airmen in harm's way. All photos by -Eleanor-.
