Geocache Description:

This cache is a small size container. Please rehide in the same manner as it is hidden.

Cache is located by Pulpit Rock, which is in the Will Baker Park and near the Decorah Campground.

You'll find the cache only after reaching the viewing platform that is above Pulpit Rock. The climb from parking is short, and is a combination of well defined steps carved through the limestone cliff and some weather-worn rock steps.

During the winter months, be careful of ice and snow on the steps.

The actual cache can be found while on the viewing platform. No need to climb over, reach over, or search on the other side of the limestone wall.

Some Pulpit Rock information copied from "Decorah Trail and Trolls" by G.E. Knudson.

This isolated pillar of rock is the result of erosion which gradually weathered and enlarged a crack in the original Galena limestone. The rock also moved slightly outward on the soft and slippery Decorah shale on which it rests. It is good evidence that this area escaped recent glaciation.
