Geocache Description:

I think this park came into being in 1987, the Park was named after Wal Mathison, the Secretary of Morwell Shire 1948-62 and the lake was named after Sir Herbert Hyland, Leader of the Victorian National Party 1955-64 and Local Member of Parliament.

Improvements have been made by the Victorian Model Power Boat Racing Club, Apex and the Churchill & District Lions Club.

It's a great place for Fly Fishing or general Angling and there is entertainment for the kids, a nice walk around the lake and a BBQ for lunch/tea (breakfast even).

Don't just come and cache - have a look around and enjoy the Park.
