Geocache Description:

Such brave and devoted heroes of the early Republic. So many are resting here. Please take a moment to read the historical marker at the entrance and look around and locate the resting place of some of these fine folks – just look for the tin stars. Also remember to write down the information inside the cache since you will need it to find the final cache in the circuit. Please leave the clue in the cache. In case the clue is missing, check the top of the log sheet.

Center Point – started out as Zanzenburg in 1859 and served as the first post office in Kerr county. It was renamed Center Point in 1872. It is reported that the name was chosen because the settlement was halfway between Kerrville and Comfort, as well as halfway between Fredericksburg and Bandera. Population as of 2000 -- 800.

We just discovered that the original virtual cache (GC7A49) that was located here had been archived. We just had to make sure folks came by here to honor the many Texas Rangers who served this area. Some of our neighbors are relatives of those rangers and help to maintain the cemetery.

Please be respectful of the area. There is no need to “wonder” off the path. The cache is less than 5 ft. from the path.
