Geocache Description:

Is a small cache located in Freeman Lake Park, Elizabethtown, KY.

Freeman Lake is one of my many wandering place in the Hardin County, Elizabethtown area. The diversity of shore and water birds makes this lake a bird lovers dream.

For last several walks across the dam I have been greeted with the friendly deep hoarse croak of the Great Blue Heron fishing along the shallow shore line of the lake. This large heron is not flighty like some of the birds on the lake. If you take your time and slowly approach he will give you a chance to admire his beautiful plumage and will demonstrate his ability as a fisherman.

Note; If you don’t spot this Heron in the small cove on the lake side of the dam you may find him fishing behind the dam just below the spillway.
