Wizard of Oz: Dorothy Gale -- Team Irish Rover Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

-Rusty-: Greetings,

While Geocaching.com would like to continue to hold the location for you, doing so blocks other cachers from placing caches in the area. We feel that this cache has been disabled for a period of time exceeding what is reasonable for the area, and thus I regretfully must archive it.

If you are able to get out and replace the cache, simply drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. I will be more than happy to take a look at it to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Thank you,

Rusty...

Geocache Description:

This is the first of our "Wizard of Oz" series. We hope to place a couple more single caches or one more multi-leg. This cache is called the Dorothy Gale. **Much easier to be stealthy either very early in the morning or after 9pm**

This is a fun multi cache to do with kids since part of it is urban and part is in a wooded area. There are three lead-up micros to a final traditional ammo box filled with goodies. You'll be staying within a 4 - 5 mile radius while obtaining all the coordinates for this multi. You'll need to bring your own pen or pencil to log the first three legs. A magnet may be handy for extracting the second leg.

The first stop on your quest to find Dorothy Gale is the "Cowardly Lion". You'll find him in a place where other lions and their cubs might gather to play. You'll need to be on the lookout for Munchkin muggles! Please be careful with the cache container and replace it sensibly and securely.

The second stop provides you an up-close opportunity to take a good look at the "Tin Man". *Extreme* stealth is required at this leg. Be sure to leave the cache EXACTLY as you found it (placed completely out of sight).

Your third stop on the road to Dorothy Gale is a place where you can reliably find "Scarecrow" innards all year long. While you're here, stop in to get a treat for Toto, if you'd like. Try to be as inconspicuous as you possibly can to avoid detection and make sure to place the cache back in the same spot!

You don't have to wear your Flying Monkey suit, but you'll capture Dorothy and Toto in the forest -- just like the Wicked Witch's hench..uh, henchmonkeys did in the Wizard of Oz! Your final destination is a lovely wooded park with defined trails. Dorothy Gale is full of nice trinkets (please help keep it that way) and at initial placement, a couple of trackables.

Please be sure to trade fairly so that everyone can find something worth their while at the end of the rainbow!

**Please note: The lead-ups are all 24 hour stops and dog friendly. The final is in a wooded park which is technically "closed" from 11pm - 6am. Dogs are prohibited in the park.

If any of the micros go missing, please let us know. I'll be happy to email you the coordinates and replace the missing steps.
