Nestled on the outskirts of Emmaus along the Little Lehigh Creek
is the Pool Wildlife Sanctuary. This 72 acre farmland was a gift to
the Wildland Conservancy in 1975 by the late Leonard Parker Pool,
founder of Air Products and Chemicals Inc.
Walking along the trails you will learn about different types of
trees, encounter wildlife and fish, see beehives, a bird blind,
wildflowers and much more. You will also find a cache! But first
you must find some frogz and nuts----no! not the people kind like
the Treefrogz and the Caching Nuts unless they happen to be on the
trails that day.
To find the frogz and nuts you must first go to the coordinates
at the top of the page. Here you will find a micro that will lead
you to an area where you will search a 30’ radius for two frogz
that will be somewhat in plain view. Each frogz will give you
either latitude or longitude, but you need both to find the area to
go to search the same way for two nuts. The two nut’s latitude and
longitude coordinates will take you to the final cache. All stages
of this cache are Above flood level. Final is a normal type of
hide.
PLEASE be very careful in handling the frogz and nuts and put
back ALL stages as found. After you found the final cache go to the
open field (on the down hill side), turn right and continue
straight to the trail. Turn left on that trail and continue back to
the car passing the bird blind. Stop in and enjoy viewing any of
the birds that may be there. Pick up a trail map before you begin
and learn about the trails.
The sanctuary is open every day from SUNRISE TO SUNSET. Do not
attempt to go any other time.
PLEASE STAY ON THE ESTABLISHED TRAILS OR OPENED GRASS TO RESPECT
THE AREAS DESIGNATED AS PRIVATE PROPERTY! Some are very close to
the trails! Once in the cache area you may venture off the trail a
bit.
Sorry NO Dogs are permitted in the sanctuary.
Since the Treefrogz and the Caching Nuts spend a lot of time
caching together, the nuts are dedicating this cache to them.
The Nuts also thank the Wildland Conservancy for allowing us to
place caches on all their open space properties for every one to
enjoy and especially to Tom Gettings for all his help. For more

Have fun and hope you enjoyed the Frogz and Nuts at the
Pool.
