First in a series of EK caches. The last remaining open tunnel of the EK RR. As of 2017 this has been closed up as well just past the opening in the guardrail.
The only Eastern Kentucky Railway Tunnel that is visible is Argillite Tunnel. Traveling south along 207 about two hundred yards past the stores in Argillite, you can see it on your left as the curve you are in takes you right. Route 207 is routed atop the old rail right of way and is easy to spot. During the warm months, the tunnel was very muddy and flooded at the south end. SADLY TO SAY THE TUNNEL HAD BEEN BULLDOZED UNDER THIS WEEK AND CAN NO LONGER BE SEEN. 4/30/2017.. Cache container has been replaced just a short distance from the original. Small magnetic container.
